Explorations in Clay for Kids (Gr. 4 and up)

In this 8-week class on Tuesdays afternoons, young students will learn a variety of ways to make objects and pottery with clay. The methods to be covered include using the pottery wheels, slabs, extruded clay, and hand-building… a little bit of everything… so that the students can use their creativity to make interesting and unique clay pieces. General techniques for wheel throwing and hand forming will include preparing the clay, trimming, and glazing. Studio rules will also be covered during this course. Be sure to wear comfortable working clothes. Tennis shoes are recommended for using the kick wheels.
