How Much is Enough?

Parenting today is not simple. It is demanding!  We live in a world that encourages overindulgence, and parents or grandparents who strive not to overindulge are engaged in an important counter-culture activity.   We overindulge not from malice, but from a good heart. And we are dismayed when the impact is the opposite of our good intent.

This class is about taking care of our children and ourselves without going overboard and overindulging. Come share your stories and questions as participants consider everything we need to know to steer clear of overindulgence and raise likeable, responsible and respectful children from toddlers to teens. You will take home tools such as  the Test of Four (clues to overindulgence). We will practice the “Parenting Highway” , using developmentally based affirmations and support for each stage of development and we’ll do “parent power exercises” to  helping to create structure in your family.  This is an interactive group experience. See you at class!

This class is based on material in the book by Jean Illsley-Clarke, Connie Dawson, and David Bredehoft  called, How Much Is Enough?    You may wish to purchase this book before the class sessions begin.
